Shirley Jeanette (Langan) Rogge was born on March 23, 1927, in Minneota, to Ed and Margaret (Blake) Langan, the youngest of four children. She grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a telephone operator. On January 22, 1952, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Rogge at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In their younger years, the couple enjoyed dancing and looked forward to the occasional Sunday drive. In addition to raising their eight children, the couple owned and operated “Rogge Sewing and Vacuum Center” for 35 years. Shirley enjoyed vegetable gardening and tending to her many flowers. She always looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren. For the last several years, she resided at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.

Shirley died on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by her sons Cary of Temple City, CA, Kim of Honolulu, HI, and Jay (Barbara) of Hanley Falls, her daughters Cathy (Steve) Malherek of Marshall and Lisa (Joel) Kretsch of Redwood Falls, her brother Ed Langan, 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, their sons Kevin, Dean and Troy, and her sisters Lucille and Katherine.

Blessed be her memory.
