Peter Daniel Haugen was born on December 24, 1976, in Golden Valley, MN. He grew up in the area including Marshall and Lucan and graduated from the Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood, MN. Peter lived in Fergus Falls and was married to Emilyn. The couple had two children: Maezyn and Zairek. Peter later moved to Minneota, MN. He was the proud Co-owner/operator of HD2 pilot car services located in Taunton, MN. Through hard work and the support of his partners in HD2, the company is and will continue to be a reputable and thriving success.

Peter’s passions in life were his children, custom cars, motorcycles, video games, his favorite team the Lions, and his two dogs: Molaki and Napali. Peter had recently reconnected with and begun a relationship with his father.

Peter will be remembered for his creative ideas and charismatic charm. The examples of loyalty, perseverance, compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need will be Peter’s legacy. His undeniably unique sense of humor and his dedication to those who were fortunate enough to have been blessed by his friendship are a great comfort.

Peter died on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the result of a motorcycle accident in Marshall. He is survived by his children Maezyn and Zairek, father Ronald Chrast, an uncle, four aunts, several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Haugen and all of his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Peter’s family to help with funeral expenses.

Our deepest sympathy! Our hearts are saddened.
We were lucky enough to meet and work with such a kind,
Humorous, caring soul.He was always helping someone!

Everyday he would say (it’s a good day for pancakes!)
I know they are stacked high for you Pete!
Our continued prayers for family and friends.

I'll always remember beating you in madden over and over again when I'd crash at your place, only cause you refused to be anyone other than the Detroit Lions! I'm gonna miss you buddy, thanks for all the fun times!
