May Josephine (Sullivan) Kirsh was born on July 20, 1933, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Joseph and Margaret (Quigley) Sullivan. May grew up and attended school in Regina. As a young adult, she moved with a friend to Minneapolis where she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist. Here, she met Bernard Kirsh who was working at the Minneapolis Moline Foundry. The couple was united in marriage on November 23, 1957, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They moved to farm and raise their family in rural Milroy. May was very social and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, bowling and card clubs. She had a strong faith and was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips “home” to Saskatchewan to see family and friends.

May died on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Prairie Home Hospice McLaughlin House in Marshall. She is survived by her sons Mike Kirsh, Dave (and Rhonda) Kirsh and Bob (and Suzanne) Kirsh, all of Milroy, grandchildren Bo Kirsh, Kody (and Jamie) Kirsh, Bridgit (and Jesse) Harris, Brandon (and Mandy) Kirsh, great-granddaughter Kinley Kirsh, sister-in-law Carol Sullivan, and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, one infant son, and brothers Carl Sullivan and Orlay Sullivan.
