Obituary

Marguerite Mary Nuytten was born on January 28, 1930, in Grandview Township to Constant and Leona (Dobbelaere) Nuytten. She attended rural school, St. Eloi Grade School and later graduated from Marshall High School in 1946. In 1960, Marguerite graduated from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She worked as a County Home Agent for Nicollet County in St. Peter before returning to St. Catherine’s College where she received her teaching certificate. Marguerite then taught in various schools in St. Paul and LaPorte, as well as Holy Redeemer School in Marshall and later in Milroy. After additional continuing education, Marguerite taught remedial reading. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time at her home. She was fond of her cat companions and also enjoyed the wild turkeys in the area and crafts including knitting, quilting and reading. Through the Guidepost Organizations, Marguerite provided sweaters and other materials to those in need. She sponsored two children through Catholic Relief Organizations. She was an honorary member of St. Anne’s CCW and made the baptismal garments for St. Eloi Parish for many years.

Marguerite died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mary Verkinderen, Annie Welvaert, Gerard, Maurice, Louise, and Arthur Nuytten, Julia Van Overbeke, Harry and Joe Nuytten and Martha Naber.

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love. The thought never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your love one can be difficult to bear. The Bible however, gives us hope that it is possible to be reunited with your love one in the future right here on earth. Please read John 5:21,28,29 and Psalms 37:29. My condolences to the family. jw.org

Kathy and family Marguerite always has a special place in my heart. We often spent time visiting about Cats when I cared for her at the Nursing home. She will always be remembered.

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. One encouraging thought you might find comforting is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us this beautiful hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again on a paradise earth! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.
