The funeral service for Louise Kockelman, 76, of Marshall, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. A walk through visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Remembrance Center. Interment will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www.horvathfuneralservice.com. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed at all times.

Louise was born on September 21, 1944, to Arthur and Frances (Differding) Windey. She grew up in the Minneota area and attended Minneota schools. Louise was baptized and confirmed at St. Edward Catholic Church. In 1962, she was married to Jim Kockelman. To that union were born sons Curt and Kevin. The family moved to Marshall where Louise worked as a waitress at the Marshall Hotel. Later, she was employed by the Schwan Food Company in the sandwich plant and call center. After retiring from Schwan's, she worked at Goodwill where she met many friends.

Louise loved the outdoors, bike riding and walking in the neighborhood, visiting with close friends, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed and never missed any of her sons' wrestling matches and also enjoyed time at her lake home.

Louise died unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, March 5, 2021. She is survived by her son Curt of Belle Plaine; siblings Glen (and Gin) Windey of Marshall, Mervin (and Janet) Windey of Alexandria, Marian (and Dan) Drumm of Marshall, Susie Windey (and special friend Joe) of Redwood Falls; grandchildren Layne and Trey Kockelman and Josey (and Matt) Arends; great-grandchildren Hazel and Nora; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Frances Windey, son Kevin and brother Robert.

Blessed Be Her Memory

Oh Jeeze Louise! Wonder how many times she heard that? I really don't know where to start because there are not enough words to describe her. The bottom line is what a true friend she was. We didn't become aqquainted until later in her life when we became co-workers at Goodwill. Then we were two peas in a pod and our friendship began. The rest is history. We had each other's back but I guess sometimes it just is'nt enough. She will always be missed and forever loved.

I worked together with Louise at the Schwan's Call Center as her Supervisor. She had a heart of gold an infectious smile - later in life see her demonstrating her work ethic at Goodwill. Remember Glenn as custodial/Grounds from Schwans and Merv from SMSU May your love and memories along with our Saviour's love guide the entire family during this difficult time. Louise, you left a footprint on my heart - rest now until we meet again. With fond memories, Lu Yackley

I worked with Louise at Schwan's call center . She was always so kind- I remember bringing my 5 year old granddaughter to show her where I worked. Louise spent time talking to her. Kevin had been my supervisor at Schwan's before his death. Louise and I also shared comments about her granddaughter, Josie. Blessed be their memories. When I think of Louise I have to smile. Ginny
