Obituary

Lawrence Duane “Larry” Bot was born on December 10, 1952, in Marshall, MN, to Fred and Lillian (Thorsteinson) Bot. He grew up on a farm near Ivanhoe and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1971. Larry attended and graduated from Diesel Technician Program at the Canby Vocational Technical School in 1974. He began working for Midway Farm Equipment in Mountain Lake, MN, and worked there until his retirement. While living in Mountain Lake, Larry worked as an EMT on the Mountain Lake Ambulance squad for many years. He enjoyed weight lifting, running and riding bike. Larry had a good mind for mechanics and was always there to help if someone was in need. Larry fought a courageous battle against cancer for seven years.

Larry died on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, MN. He is survived by his brothers Robert (and Florie) Bot of Manila, Philippines, Gerald Bot of Ivanhoe, sisters Nancy (and David) Meier of Marshall, Rebecca (and Tim) Wilkinson of Pearl, TX, four nieces and nephews and close friends Darlene Quiring and Jeff Quiring.
