Jules Joseph Noyes was born on July 22, 1925, in Westerheim Township to Henry and Marie (DeWilde) Noyes. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On June 14, 1955, he was united in marriage to Marlene Van Keulen at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Jules and Marlene farmed and raised their family east of Ghent. After their retirement, they moved to Marshall. Faith, family and the farm were most important to Jules. He served on and was past Chairman of the St. Eloi School Board, as well as serving on the board of the Adult Community Center in Marshall. He enjoyed many hobbies including playing cards, especially bien, pinochle and pepper. He also enjoyed rolle bolle and other sports including softball. He played and managed his church team until age 50. Jules and his brother, Joe, enjoyed playing pool in his younger years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves, and was a longtime fan of the New York Yankees and Mickey Mantle. Jules was diagnosed with diabetes at age 50. Later he began a daily, three mile walk to the Adult Community Center which continued for 25 years. Jules primary focus was his faith. He was an active member of St. Eloi Catholic Church and then Holy Redeemer Catholic Church after the couple moved to Marshall. Jules volunteered at the nursing home by bringing residents to Mass into his nineties.

Jules died on Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Marlene, of Marshall, children Jim (and Lois) Noyes of Ghent, Ken (and Jan) Noyes of Marshall, Cathy (and Tom) Hanson of Fargo, Ron Noyes of Willmar, grandchildren Jackie (and Mike) Braithwaite, Allan (and Amy) Noyes, Tony (and Trish) Noyes, Dave (and Payton) Noyes, Kris (and Nick) Carrow, Katie (and Brian) Klancher, Lisa (and Chris) Skaggs, Nicole Noyes, Stephanie (and Sean) Pickthorn, Jen Hanson, Jeff Hanson, Jason (and Emily) Hanson, great-grandchildren Reagan, Kez, Huxley, Maddy, Jack, Beckett, Juliette, Emerson, Soren and one due in October. Also survived by his siblings Joe (and Millie) Noyes and Ray (and Colleen) Noyes, in-laws Donna Maeyaert, Jerry (and Caroline) Van Keulen and Rona Van Keulen and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Bertha (and Emil) Louwagie, Emil (and Mary) Noyes, Alice (and Leo) Louwagie, and in-laws Don Maeyaert, Allan Van Keulen, Bernetta Van Keulen (age 13), and Dennis Van Keulen (age six months).
