Obituary

Arla Jean (Anderson) Boe was born on August 7, 1932, in Hazel Run, MN, to Philemon and Ella (Hanson) Anderson. Arla grew up in Hazel Run and graduated from Hanley Falls High School. On May 5, 1951, Arla was united in marriage to Wynston Boe in Hazel Run. The couple moved to Granite Falls and Cottonwood before settling in Minneota in 1969. Arla worked as a bookkeeper for Minneota Public Schools for many years. She was a bookkeeper at MGT until her retirement. In her retirement, Arla helped at the Minneota Countryside Golf Club, where she wore many hats. She could be found cooking, cleaning, bartending, and waitressing, always with a smile on her face.

Arla was well known for her doughnuts, which she made for every occasion. She also enjoyed making lefse every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas for her many family members and friends. Arla was passionate about the Church her whole life. Arla was very involved in Hope Lutheran Church, making her famous doughnuts with their Sunday morning coffee. She was blessed with five children, thirteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren for whom she was grateful. She enjoyed making special treats for the grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Arla was an avid Minnesota and Minneota Vikings fan.

Arla died Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. To the family, I would like to express my sincere condolences. The Bible reports many instances of humans young, old, male, and female who was brought back to life on earth. God hates death he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a yearning to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of a resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live forever here on earth in the abundance of peace. (Psalms 37:11) To learn more visit jw.org

My sympathies to Arla's family. Many good memories from our days at MGT Co-op. I always appreciated what she did for us, along with our many conversations. Later, it was always great to see her at the Minneota basketball games. Very nice lady who will be missed.

Take care,
