Adeline Mary Lanoue was born on January 18, 1930, on a farm north of Milroy to Camille and Mary (Jacob) Lanoue. She attended school at the Milroy Public School and at the age of 14 the family moved to a farm southwest of Milroy. Adeline then attended school in Tracy and returned to Milroy Public School for her senior year, graduating in 1948. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Raymond Meulebroeck in the cold of the winter on February 23, 1949, at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy. The couple was married at 10:00 a.m. with a reception at the Atlantic Hotel in Marshall and a dance at Sabons Hall in Tracy. Since their marriage, they have farmed land two miles east of Green Valley for three years; six miles south of Cottonwood for ten years, and in July of 1961 they purchased property six miles east of Russell beginning on their anniversary in 1962, and moved to Marshall in 1991. This couple was blessed with six children: James, Thomas, David L., Dennis, Elaine and Mark. Adeline was involved with church groups who made quilts and sewed t-shirts. They sewed 4,084 shirts for those in need in Guatemala with Adeline personally responsible for more than half. Other interests include gardening, baking, making Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren, playing cards (especially “Pepper,”) playing Bingo and making Belgian Cookies.
